Hello,

I have a big Model and I want to have the Stress Results only for some parts. So I create an Element Set.
And I write this:
*OUTPUT, FIELD, FREQUENCY = 999
*ELEMENT OUTPUT, ELSET = BRKT

But I get a huge odb. Bigger that I use to have with the all Model. So I change it to History

*OUTPUT, HISTORY, FREQUENCY = 999
*ELEMENT OUTPUT, ELSET = BRKT

but I get a error message:
***ERROR: The number of history output requests (100001) in this analysis step
has exceeded 10x the maximum value of 10000 specified by the Abaqus
environment variable 'max_history_requests.'

I'm a little bit confused! Can you please help me ?
Thanks

Try reducing the frequency of output. There’s also an ODB Extractor and Builder Tool plug-in that can be used to reduce the size of odb files.

Hi,

I put the Frequency by 999 in order to have the last increment because I just want to see the last increment. There is max 17 inc pro step. And I only want to see the last step. Also Last Increment from the last step for an ELSET.

Make sure that you replace the default whole model field output request with the one defined only for selected elset.

You can create this output request for given elset using Abaqus/CAE as well (no need to edit input file).

I only have this Resquest at the end of my last step:

*OUTPUT, HISTORY, FREQUENCY = 999
*ELEMENT OUTPUT, ELSET = BRKT

Delete all history output requests if there are any (unless you need some energy output for example). If this doesn’t help, consider reducing mesh density or use the plug-in that I’ve mentioned before.

Doesn't help and my SET it's not really big. So I make it with FLIED.

How big is this odb in gigabytes ? Strange that reduction of the output database to results for just one set doesn’t help in thos case.

At the start it was 7GB and as I put the Field output at the end for only my set 42GB! :-(

That’s really unusual, there might be another unintentional difference between these models. Compare their input files using some advanced text editor such as gVim.

I know. But there are the same. Only OUTPUT Request is not on the same place and I add ELSET= BKRT :-(

I don't believe it. I've experienced those things way too often - the users says A, but when I look into the input file I see B.

Here: With this, I get the 42GB odb.

In the first steps is no output request, which means that Abaqus used the defaults. So the typical field and history output for the whole model at every increment. Are you aware of this?

No. If I just want to have the OUTPUT from the last Step ? This is not possible ?

Write this into the first step:
*Output, field, frequency=0

It is also clearly mentioned in the documentation at *Output:
"Set FREQUENCY=0 to suppress the output."

The subsequent steps will take over the settings from the previous step when they do not have an output request itself.

Oh. Ok. I miss this, sorry. Thanks you for your help.
