I have a situation where the GC wants to use Elocone nuts on one of my projects.

There are some anchor rods that do not have enough projection, and he wants to fix this via Elocones.

I asked if Elocones have any ICC testing data. They do not. Does that mean I can't use them?

They tell me that Elocones will develop the full tensile capacity of the anchor rod....but no ICC data.

What do you think?

If I can't use these nuts, then we're looking at a major column/footing anchorage retrofit.

I'm actually in the same boat right now. Just sent Canam an email asking for some guidance on this and will report back if I get a reply.

ICC is just one testing outfit. Do they have reports from other testing groups? There's a thread on these from about 14 years ago in the Welding, Bonding, & Fastener Engineering forum. That person indicated they had a report from a university at the time.

Whether the report is from ICC or some other lab, it's still up to the EOR to decide if it's good enough.
