Embed an EXcel file into NX 2027 so the file drives a model and stays with the model file 1

Hello,
I am trying to automate a NX 2027 sketch by embedding an Excel file into the NX file. The Excel file is already written and has some extensive calculations. I would like to take that existing file and put it into a master NX file so the sketch will change based on some key expressions that are executed in the embedded Excel file. I think I know how to make the expressions equal the cells for a spreadsheet but I haven't had much luck getting the existing Excel file into an NX file and not saved in a personal folder. Currently the process is to open the spreadsheet (from Teamcenter) and input some values, the spreadsheet makes some calculations to check your values to make sure the part is ok. Once you are done with the spreadsheet you need to copy/save-as the master NX model (also in TCE) and change the expressions there to equal your values from the spreadsheet. I would like to eliminate the extra step and have the NX file read directly from the spreadsheet. Can this be done?

While in modeling, go to tools -> spreadsheet. This will open the part's existing spreadsheet (in Excel, if you have it). I worked with a guy that used the spreadsheet extensively to do some calculations and change expression values in the model. What he had set up looked very useful.

Edit: the above was done back in the days of NX12(ish). It looks like you can still use the part's spreadsheet, but it looks like we now also have the "embed manager" that might do what you want.

Reading the link you sent, it doesn't look like I can do what I want. I would like to keep the spreadsheet in TCE with the model, so there is only 1 file (.prt) instead of having a .prt and a .xlsx file. It says in the directions you need embed the spreadsheet but it is outside of TCE.

If the embed manager doesn't fit your needs, you can still make use of the modeling spreadsheet. You will need to copy/transfer your calculations from your current Excel file to the NX part spreadsheet.
