EN 10025 S235JR Plate in US

Does anyone know if metric size plate conforming to EN 10025 S235SJR can be purchased from a supplier in the US? It would also need to be CE stamped.

It would be nice if the plate were at least 2.5M wide but we'll take what we can get.

Thanks

ASTM A36 is equivalent to S235JR. Make sure you are meeting all your requirements if you use this.

The plate provider would have to certify that this meets EN 10025 S235SJR and CE stamp it. I understand that A36 is very similar, maybe even considered the same, but without proper documentation our European client is not going to accept it. I'm looking for a US company that can do this. It's really not about engineering but about satisfying the bureaucrats.

SP, I tried them. No luck. Thanks anyway.

There is a separate audit schedule attached to the CE marking requirement (that very few USA manufacturers will follow).
Ask your client if they absolutely need the CE mark, or if a (3.1) certificate that mentions all (chemical and mechanical) specs is sufficient. Chances are, they won't care about the CE mark, as long as the steel conforms to all spec. S235JR is bottom of the line, can't really be for a high quality requirement project...

Does this project require conformity to EN 1090, or do the products fall under the scope of CPR 305/2011? Then, im afraid CE-mark is an absolute legal requirement.
We’ve had our Canadian sister company (who are familiar with the North American market) do a CE-marked project for the EU market. In the end, they bought all steel in the EU, shipped it to Ca for overall assembly of the complete skid and the send it to the customer in EU.

Look for suppliers that can provide shipbuilding plate that conforms to the standards of the European classification societies such as DNV, Bureau Veritas, Lloyd Register, etc... These plates are available in the USA but may need to be ordered from overseas.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like we'll probably be buying this overseas, building it in the US and then sending it back across the pond. What a waste of resources!
