I recently updated a 3d piping program that is AutoCAD based.
Now when I open certain drawings, even thru ACAD only, a window titled "c:\winnt\system32\cmd.exe" opens repeatedly(sometimes over 100 times)
this window states "c:\docume~1\MDE6C~1.net\LOCALS~1\temp\objectDBXdownLoad\enabler.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."
What does this mean and how do I stop it from popping up???

Thank you very much!!

As a precaution, I would check if this is the Nimbda worm virus or not.

I am having the same problem when opening files in AutoCAD, although only when the file has xrefs. Nobody here knows what to do about it, so I would love to hear any suggestions. The supposed location of my enabler.exe file is 'c:\Temp\ObjectDBXdownLoad\enabler.exe'.

Hope to hear from someone!

Marize,

Are you working with AutoCAD 2004? If not, this enabler works with ACAD 2004, and that's what it's looking for. If you don't have this version, that's why you are getting the error.

This link has some information that explains it a bit more:

If you are using 2004, you can download the enabler at:

Hope this helps. If you figure anything else out, please post. I too am having the same error. :)

=> I think this is happened because of following:
- You are using Express tool.
- You may have loaded express tools applications thru “Load application” since it was not working thru regular menu load.
- Something wrong in one of the express tool X-ref utility lisp file. Particularly when “.arx” application is loaded.

=> To fix this,
1) Go to – Tools – load applications – Contents – (Select all and) Remove all files.
2) Now if you’re using express tools, click Add – now in file types click for .lsp – select all .lsp files and Close – Close.

This should probably solve your problem.

I have done following into my system to fix the opening window with 'c:\Temp\ObjectDBXdownLoad\enabler.exe' multiple times.
· Upgraded to service pack 2 – Did not work / No change.
· Gone thru program repair/fix program files thru windows2000 - Did not work / No change.
· Removed AutoCAD thru control panel, did not removed complete folder so deleted that folder. Also removed Aec, object enabler, and all other upgrade files that have downloaded before, shutdown & restarted system and reloaded AutoCAD – It worked just fine, now I am back to normal except that I have to fix my custom menu files, paths and so on. And after doing this it is working just fine.

Good luck.

Saurabh.
