Hello everyone.

Does someone have experience with iTEMP TMT84 temperature transmitters from Endress+Hauser?
I have a couple of these transmitters but I cannot find a way to connect with them in order to do set the parameters.
They are used with Profibus but should be accessible via the Endress+Hauser software - Device Care SFE100.
I have the FXA291 modem and the DTM libraries set up but the software tells me that it cannot find any device.

If someone can share a similar experience or a workaround it would be awesome!
Thanks !

Are you sure every E&H transmitter model comes with CDI comm functionality?

The statement in the TMT84 Profibus PA manual, states, "Access to iTemp TMT84 occurs exclusively with Profibus communication". 'Exclusively' is a pretty encompassing word. The Device Care web page shows CDI comm using the FXA291 modem, but Profibus comm using a USB/Profibus modem.

It isn't clear to me whether CDI is included in the TMT84 or not.

I am not sure about this.
The device manual lists the communication specific accessories available, one of which is the Commubox FXA291.
The DeviceCare has two DTM versions available for this transmitter so naturally i thought it can be connected to the PC.

Also when you try to connect with it through the advanced menu of DeviceCare, it has an access code field. Maybe this code is what is missing?

However in the meantime i managed to connect it to a Profibus PA communicator without any issues but i doesn't offer a two point calibration. Only a fixed offset which served the purpose in my case.

Sorry, no personal experience with E&H, other than a conversation 10 years ago with a tech using a private labeled version of Pactware to connect to a Siemens transmitter. He could not get a connection and we suspected the problem was licensing. My recollection is that it was E&H who had an enhanced, licensed version of Pactware, but I could be wrong.

Maybe "access code" is a licensing code?

I had a chance to talk with an E&H representative.

Wanted to update the forum with the outcome, it may serve someone in the future.

The TI datasheet for TMT84 states the FXA291 & FXA195 HART as "communicaton-specific accessories".
Even though it does, the Profibus PA version of it cannot communicate through these devices with DeviceCare software even if you have the latest DTMs installed.
He will investigate this further though.

For the time being, the only way this will be accessible for me is through the Profibus PA communicator.
