Why, when you enlarge a TRIMMED PLANE, is the result a trimmed B_SURFACE?

In the modeling preferences (on the free form tab) there is an option for 'Plane' or 'B-Surface' for result of free form construction result. I'm guessing that you have the 'B-Surface' option checked.

note: locations are for NX2, other versions may differ.

Thanks cowski, but that's not it. I have "B-Surface" checked. The option is in the same place in NX3.

My apologies, I should have tested that out for myself before I posted. Maybe it is just the nature of the enlarge command?

Why enlarge a planar sheet in the first place? Can you build another sheet the size you need? If you are using it for a trim tool, can you use a datum plane instead?

I was using a linked planar surface to create a mating part. The planar surface was just part of the linked surfaces I needed. I ended up creating a new surface based on edges extracted, extruded and trimmed. Now I have my planar surface. Thanks for the input!
