I've recently run into some calculation problems with this.
Vessel designed to secVIII div1. I'm using Compress for calculations.
As an example I've got a bottle with an inlet and outlet in the shell. I need a drain and can't mount one at the bottom due to a support, so I'm using an elbolet attached to the outside of the head.
Bonney Forge has dimensions on their website, but they are vague. Especially with the design of the EOL, it looks impossible to determine actual wall thickness.
How do I calculate for an elliptical area loss in a head. My ABSA reviewer is cutting the hole hillside and is telling me that it will cut into the vessel shell because of how low I have it. Even though he understands this is not the practice for fabrication.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Regards.
