Dear All
Mine is chemical and fertilizer plant. We use Epoxy paint when there is dusty environment and CR paint where there is dust free environment. Why? IS EPoxy better for corrosion resistance than CR paint.? Please guide me
.
Regards

What is CR paint? Chlorinated Rubber?

Where do you use these paint?

Is the temperature same for all these applications?

Please give more information

Yes CR paint is Chlorinated rubber paint. It is used in areas where it is free from dust. We use CR paint in our plants like Ammonia,Nitric acid plant and Steam Generation plant. Temperature is same for all these aplications. My question is that Why Epoxy not CR paint used in dusty areas a Please answer my question
Regards
Pradeep

My guess would be that CR paint is a very viscous high-build coating that will not wet-out and penetrate through dust well, so dust acts as a release agent. Whereas epoxy paint is low viscosity and will wet-out and absorb dust so the paint will stick to the surface under the dust. Rubber part makers use talc powder to keep rubber from being sticky during handling, and bread boards are dusted with flour to keep dough from sticking.

Dear Sir
What is wet-out in paint application? Is there nothing about abrasion and corrosion resistance consideration when paint selection? In that case whichpaint is better?
