Epoxy vynilester resin /green color

Hi Group.
My company manufactures pipes and fittings in GFRP using epoxy vynilester resins (Basf, Ashland, Reichold, etc), once the resin is promoted with Cobalt octoate, its color change from clear to purple color, then when the hardener MekP is added, the resins change its color from purple to green. My question is , there is a way to get a hardened vynilester resin in clear color?, maybe changing the Cobalt with DMA?. We do need to coat some products but the green color is not accepted.

Reichold used to offer a pre promoted Vynil ester resin that was a brown amber color It used to turn pale green briefly when MEKP was added , then turn back to a pale amber color when the reaction was complete , Have you also looked at Dow Derokane resin, it also has an amber color when fully cured. Have you tried Cobalt naphthenate instead of the octoate?

Thanks BerkShire, by the way the only resins that we aere using are Reichold Dion 9100, as shown in the picture, this is the resin that we should use. So, it is possible to replace all the cobalt with DMA?

I do not know enough about the chemistry of the resin to answer that, but I do know we were using conap and DMA . If you play around with the promoter accelerator ratios you should do test samples , and check them with a Barcol hardness tester before using them on the product. It sounds like you need to talk with Reichold. Have you tried their 9102 resin?
