Hi,
I am working on splines made by passing through points in 3D sketch.

I would like to export the equation of the spline passing though the points.
From the previous forum posts, I can see that one cna export the points from the 3d sketch, but this is incomplete.
I would like to know the exact paramters of the spline in a mathematical sense- since several different splines can be made to pass through a given set of points- or rather the problem has multiple solutions.

Please let me know if I am not being clear in the question. I would appreciate any help.

Exapmle set of points:

X Y Z
201.875 2.70625 -0.5
201.55 1.95625 0
202.5 1.5 0.25
200 1.5 0.25
200.95 1.95625 0
200.29 3.5625 0
200.625 2.70625 -0.5
201.25 3.884375 0.25
202.21 3.5625 0

Sangramkr1992,

Look at the equation editor, and at design tables. The design tables should fairly conveniently convert tabular data to spline points.

Thank you JHG.
I was looking more into detailed equation of the spline.
I realise in Matlab one can generate these natural B splines and there is a function to determine the parameters used spline. This way one can regenerate the same spline passing through the a given set of 3d points.

Thank you for helping

Sangramkr1992,

To draw a spline, you need the XY coordinates. The design tables will solve your equation, and extract the XY coordinates.
