Hello,

Does someone can tell me where i find some literature which describes the deductions of the equations for design of single angles under bending shown in the AISC spec.?

Thanks in advance.

I can't find the website that it was sold on anymore, but if you can track down a copy of the Single Angle Design Manual by Whitney McNulty (and the spreadsheets that go along with it) it should have you covered for basically all the practical strength design stuff. If you want theory, the starting place for a lot of things in steel is Guide to Stability Design Criteria for Metal Structures by Zieman et al

Thanks to TLHS for giving the full details I was able to google fu and find it for you. Here's the book (still available for purchase).

A few years ago I was going to do some theoretical work with single angles for my Master's Project, but it never went anywhere. I did start a literature review, though.

One of the papers may be exactly what you want: "The History of the Development of the Single Angle Design Provisions in the AISC Specification" by LeRoy A. Lutz, presented in the Proceedings of the Annual Stability Conference of the Structural Stability Research Council.
