Guys,

Do you know any inernational standard for numbering of equipment installed on ships?

I used to fwd -> aft, stb -> port, but i heard that some shipyards use fwd -> aft, port -> stb.

Thanks in advance.

BR,

The most recognised standard is the SFI. you need to by a licence ( which is the book) but costs very little tyy
Note that the code is designed to provide a frame work which you modifiy to suit your needs.

We use it for use it for equipment Hierachy, Document control, Drydock planning, Cost coding and anything else we can think of

most logic is to count as you read (facing the bow of the ship)
fwd to aft, port to starbord

LR "counting" of units and/or equipment onboard is aft--->fwd, port--->stbd
