Erosion in the LP steam turbine last stage

It is observed after inspection of the LP steam turbine last stage which was running only couple weeks that the Erosion occurs in the trailing edge, do you have an explanations for this phenomena ?

Recommended for you

Poor steam conditions causing water drop-out in the final stages of the machine. Check your condenser vacuum.
 
agreed....
verify exhaust cooling sprays are secured as soon as not needed
also extend operation at low load
 
Erosion damage to the trailing edge of last stage blades may also occur at low load due to recirculation of wet steam in the last stage. In these cases, the damage usually appears near the base of the last stage blades. When recirculation occurs, the only solution may be to operate at a higher load.
