Hi everyone!
I was running abaqus and everything was going well like you can see:

The job input file "neutra3compresults.inp" has been submitted for analysis.
Job neutra3compresults: Analysis Input File Processor completed successfully.

But after that, something strange happened:

ERROR in job messaging system: Error in connection to analysis
Error in job neutra3compresults: The executable C:\SIMULIA\Abaqus\6.9-EF1\exec\standard.exe aborted with system error code 5. Please check the .dat, .msg, and .sta files for error messages if the files exist. If there are no error messages and you cannot resolve the problem, please run the command "abaqus job=support information=support" to report and save your system information. Use the same command to run Abaqus that you used when the problem occurred. Please contact your local Abaqus support office and send them the input file, the file support.log which you just created, the executable name, and the error code.
Job neutra3compresults aborted due to errors.

I really dont have any idea why this happened. Actually I ran this file before and everything went well. I've just changed the forces and this error happened. Anyone can help me?

thank you very much in advance for your time

Error code 5 is a memory allocation issue. Depending on whether or not you are using subroutines, one or more of the following may be applicable in your case:

a) all your variables are defined and called properly (like Depvar)
b) have small print commands in your subroutine to make sure it is being called and everything checks out okay
c) run the subroutine on a single element
d) make sure FORTRAN syntax is strictly followed (names must be short, length of line must be less than 72 characters etc.)
e) lines in the inp should not be repeated (I guess)
f) try on another machine; perhaps the memory in your system has gone bad
g) try running the exact same INP again or reduce/increase the memory provided to Abaqus. Check .dat, .msg, and .sta files for error codes or cues.

Hi,
I was modeling a crack and got the same error. The problem was that I had not specified the contact property in Interaction module (Spacial/Crack/Edit/Specify contact property).

Cheers,
Ali
