Dear All,
I used buckle analysis to find the failure modes of a portal frame and then used the imperfection function to find the post buckle mechanism.
However I'm am getting the following error message in the msg file
***NOTE: THE SOLUTION APPEARS TO BE DIVERGING. CONVERGENCE IS JUDGED UNLIKELY.
***ERROR: TOO MANY ATTEMPTS MADE FOR THIS INCREMENT
I've tried changing the minimum and maximum increments but it doesn't seem to work.
At present i have set the follow
AUTOMATIC TIME CONTROL WITH -
A SUGGESTED INITIAL TIME INCREMENT OF 2.000E-02
AND A TOTAL TIME PERIOD OF 1.00
THE MINIMUM TIME INCREMENT ALLOWED IS 1.000E-10
THE MAXIMUM TIME INCREMENT ALLOWED IS 2.00
Any help would be much appreciated as my dissertation hand in is rapidly approaching.
Cheers Brian
