Hello to everyone,

I modeled two shell elements that have been joined together using a TIE constraint.
Now I would like introduce a load on the slave region, creating a reference point, by loading the latter and then using an MPC between the two. ABAQUS exit the Job with several errors like this:

***ERROR: DEGREE OF FREEDOM 3 DOES NOT EXIST FOR NODE 3357 INSTANCE *********. IT HAS ALREADY BEEN ELIMINATED BY ANOTHER EQUATION, MPC,RIGID BODY, KINEMATIC COUPLING CONSTRAINT, TIE CONSTRAINT OR
EMBEDDED ELEMENT CONSTRAINT. THE REQUIRED MPC (TYPE BEAM) CANNOT BE FORMED.

This problem can be bypassed? Is there a better way to introduce a concentrated force on a surface?

thanks in advance for your attention.

A force on a surface is a pressure. Use load "Surface Traction" if the load is not normal on the surface.
