my computer must need a "tune up" or something, cause i am having problems just arise in matter minutes. Now my escape button isn't working. When i hit the escape button, it switches between programs that i have open on my desktop, nstead of canceling a command in Autocad.
Any suggestions?
thanks,
Juice

Check to make sure you don't have AutoCAD running in compatability mode. If you do, then CTRL+C is the cancel command and ESC will not work.

How do i check if i am in compatibility mode? Because i want the escape button to work as my cancel command in Autocad?

I believe that it is a check box in the "preferences" pull-down. Are you sure that you don't have a stuck key? A stuck "ALT" key would cause the problem that you describe.

This happens to me occasionally. I thought it was just a bug in acad, or yet-another-windoze-indiosyncracy. (sp?)

Just restart acad, or as a last resort, windoze, and off you go.
