Hi all,

Are there any online resources that have figures for the pithcing moment or rate of a Delta II during ascent into LEO?

Thanks in advance.

would allow you to make a reasonable guess. You'll need to get a bit more specific about the configuration as Delta II has a few options (from what I can tell).

There is a Boeing Payload Engineer's manual, but I cannot find a live link to it.

Hi and thanks for trying to help. I looked at the link you gave me and I don't understand how I could make a reaosnable guess from that information. It's not to scale and no pitch orientation info is given. By the way, the data I seek is for the Delta II 7320-10C. I also have the Payload Planner's Guide for the Delta II, but it doesn't have pitching data in it. I assume that the pitching data would also be a function of the desired orbit as well, but I'm just looking for representative values.

Can anybody help me with this???
Many thanks.

You need to construct a speed vs altitude model to agree with the data shown, and the known performance data for the rockets. Then you can work back to a pitching rate.

It'll be of the order of one degree per second.

Okay, I'll give it a try when I get some time. I don't need an exact answer, just a typical worst case number. Thanks.
