Hi all,
I am relatively new to using ETABS and want to see if anyone has any tips for modeling wind loads on a building with parapets around the main roof level and 3-sided screen walls also at roof level near the center of the building. This project is located in the US so I am using ASCE 7-16 for reference.
I understand ETABS has an auto-generate wind feature that will allow you to generate loads based on diaphragm extents or shell elements (like cladding).
I would like to use the auto-generate wind feature for my wind pattern so that ETABS will also generate the 12 steps for each wind load combo. (Ref Fig 27.3-8 ASCE7-16). I am unsure of how to appropriately include the screen wall loads into the project since the t/screen wall does not have a diaphragm.
Any tips or tricks are highly appreciated!
