Hi, all,

I am running a project in Pro/Mechanica. The constraint is at 3 point. In order to get rid of the stress concentration at these points, I exclude the elements around them when I define the analysis, and ignore the stress & displacement. However, the result still shows stress concentration at those points, which means the excluded elements is not really ignored. Anybody can tell me why? and how to deal with this problem?

Thanks a lot!

Anny,

The element exclusion means that the software is not including the parameters from that element in the convergence check. The element is still part of the model and therefore being used in the calculation of the stiffness matrix. It is just not being used to drive the p-order of adjacent elements.
