I struggle on how to properly connect things to an existing Open-web steel joist. Not for all scenarios. But definitively for connections to the bottom chord, when diagonals are made of a continuous bent rod.
I know people use clamps, either a C-Clamp or a in-between angles plate and bolt. And I don't want to drill the angles, since they are tension members.
My problem is that I don't feel confortable with some friction type of connection when it could loosen and be free to move. I wonder if there is prefabricated connectors that can trully eliviate any translation.
Thanks y'all.
