Expansion joint in the right location?

Hello, I am trying to understand if the expansion joint for a new heat exchanger is being installed in the right location. I've attached a picture showing two supports that will be connected to the green structure above by hanger rods. The expansion joint on the shell of the exchanger is between the support and the nozzle on the column. As the equipment gets hot, would the expansion joint interfere with the support rods as shown in the picture? Would the support rods be forced to elongate and compromise their function?

Please let me know if this is not the correct forum for this question.

Thank you,

You will need to know the detail of the expansion joint and design the hanger support not to interfere with it.
IMO, the temperature of the heat exchanger surface (with or without the insulation) is low enough and won't have a thermal expansion issue for the support steel or hanger rod.
