I am a young engineer who's recently been assigned with the design of an underground mine dewatering pumping station. The pumping station consists of three horizontal multistage centrifugal pumps operating at Q=650m³/h & H=30 bar. The surge analyst calculated the maximum static pressure at the discharge of the pump to be around 43 bar. 12" seamless steel pipes will be used both at suction & discharge of the pump. Due to my lack of experience i want to ask whether a pump connector or an expansion joint is needed, at either the suction or discharge side of the pump. Is there any good bibliography on the subject
