Hi,

Does have axial expansion joint usage exempt reducing vibrations and forces due to temperature difference?
This means:
Could we use EJ at ambient temperature? Why?
Would pressure in piping line(specially in GRP lines) cause of use of EJ?

For example in the attached file which
temperature difference= zero
pressure gage=20bar
pipe material= GRP
pipe size=32"
and one side is fixed point and another is a fix equipment.
Does it need EJ?

I wouldn't say you need an expansion joint based on what you have said so far. It is possible that you need to make some adjustments to configuration. With no temperature difference, internal pressure by itself will shorten the pipe thereby putting the line in tension, if it is installed directly between two fixed points.

What would you be doing, if you knew that you could not fail? Ans. Bonds and derivative brokering.

Big Inch is right, however you never state what temperature it will be operating at, just that the delta temperature will be zero. In cold start/hot start (depending on your application), it may need to be examined.

BTW vibrations arn't the best thing to put on expansion joints, or anything else for that matter.

In the attached pic which have not EJ, pressure thrust causes large force and moment on nozzle and anchor.
The force on the elbow is 100ton(with an angle of 60 degree relative to the horizon).
Also moment is 100ton*(sin60)*leg length.
These load and moments is 48 times of allowable nozzle load.
How can I overcome to these loads?

make the piping configuration more flexible.
