Hello All,
I am an electrical engineer and I have just attended a meeting at which the Mechanical Contractor proposed to substitute Bentax Ionization units for the product our mechanical engineers specified. These are for an airport terminal where the owner is concerned about problems they have with Jet Fuel fumes entering the terminal concourses via the outside air intakes on the Air Handlers. It is an old problem and they have filtration on all the units but in this major renovation project we are doing we are replacing the fans, filter sections and adding an air purification system. These units would be located downstream of the pre-filters, secondary filters and final Hepa-filters.
As part of a "value engineering" excercise, the contractor has proposed these units. It turns out these are new to our HVAC guys and I thought I would ask this forum to see if anyone out there has experience with this particular manufacturer. They are at and Darien, CT.
Any insight would be appreciated.
