Hi all.

This one's worth at least a six-pack to the correct respondant.

Is there a way to explode a block (with and without attributes) but to end up with no visible change to the items that used to be in the block?

The only change would be that block text would become mtext, or single line text, ideally.

We have some drawings exported from Inventor but we want to make some minor touch-ups with Acad.

Thanks in advance,

tg

I believe the BURST command is what you are looking for

Hi Hendie.

Can you elaborate - I tried this in Acad 2005 and I get an "unknown command" message.

Thanks...

Thank you both for this.

I have installed and tried it, and only the attribute value is retained, not the formatting, font, text size, etc.

I still have to do some major tweaking to achieve what we want.

We may be dreaming here, but we'd like to select a "frozen" drawing border (having come in as a block from INV 9) and modify some of the text that is NOT an atribute (because that would be quite easy with Acad's enhanced attrib. editor).

Also, some blocks have come in containing MTEXT, and as soon as those are exploded, it all changes as well.

I appreciate ANY more help on this very much...

When the block is burst, the attributes become text, using the derault or current text style. Try STYLE onthe command line, make one you like, make it current and try BURSTing again.
