explosion views

I can create an explosion in 3D and add in the trace lines between parts. How do I get this to show up in a drawing view? I tried the view/options/save_as and then select that viewname when drafting a new baseview but the explosion and trace lines will not show up. Why???

The 'exploded' view must be created in the Drawing file, not the original assembly file.
