Does anyone know if there is a way to open up Catia 4 export files using an NT based machine? We use SolidWorks and it has no built in translator, also we do not have access to a Unix box at all.

hello cbarb,

I have found it easy to go to your tools menu then utility and double click on extract model from sequential then load your export file and set a destination path for it and run the program. Will extract the file into a catpart readonly.

"?I hope your using v5
cause thats what i'm refering to! Tim

As far as I know there is no way to directly open a CATIA V4 export file directly in Solidworks. If you contact me I can help you out.

Actually, you can STEP out the file within CATIA. You need to change the file extension to .stp for Solidworks to open it. Just click File -> Open and then the .stp file you've created.
