I was asked to do a task at work involving exporting a single jt file. I was instructed, and followed up by internet, that by choosing "As a Single File" under the JT preferences before exporting, would give me one JT file. Instead I seem to get the same result as if I had never changed the setting even though I am making sure to save the configuration and go back into it to make sure it has stayed on my saved configuration. I get the file that I want but also a folder containing all the parts within the assembly. If the folder and contents are deleted or moved away from the single file, the components will not open in the JT2Go. Any tips or suggestions?

I did a search in this forum for "jt file" and got a few pages of results
Use the search button a little under the title of this forum and eneter "jt file" as the keyword - there's probably something there that will help you out

I did this and found one very close to what I needed to know, however the problem was apparently solved with the "As a Single File" solution as the thread ended at that. I'll keep looking though.

Thanks

When you change Jt options you have to save it to a new config file. The tessUG.config by default is read only.

I just tested in NX6 and it works when I did the following:

1. Preferences -> JT, set to As Single File. then click OK.
2. Click on save configuration and specify a new file name for the config file. Then make sure that file is listed as the config file you are using.
3. Then click OK.

It was either that I was not checking in the drop-down to make sure my saved setting was selected or I needed to restart UG. It worked this time. Thanks so much for the feedback.
