Exporting Assembly

I am using NX6 and TeamCenter. I would like to export out a complete assembly to provide the complete model to a fellow NX6 user not at my facility. I selected File > Export Assembly outside TeamCenter > Add Assembly. Other settings I have selected "Auto Translate" and "Default Output Directory" under NAMING tab. When I do EXECUTE, I get error message "Some parts experienced name rule failures" and the log shows "number assignment for a component to be cloned specifies a duplicate part number". Bottom line is that nothing gets exported out. Is this due to the error noted?

Try set the Default Export Action on Use Existing in the Main tab screen, and do a dry run before you actually execute the action. Then you get an info window, maybey it helps to clear out which parts are not exported, it has almost the same functionality as the Report to Informantion Window.

MickyV007 thanks for your input. I did work with the Export Assembly outside TeamCenter and was able to get the assembly out. Had to first select "ADD PART" at Main tab for the assembly (Did not select "ADD ASSEMBLY"). Then added all the detail parts one by one. Finally got the assembly model with all details and constraints by doing this. Family parts will NOT come out(ie fasteners).

If you had selected add assembly, then NX will ask to define what to do with family members, the option i choose is make normal parts for it. Then in the main tab there is a button called set defaults, if you click this button , Nx will show you which part is exported out of TC and how you want to name it, so you can give new codenumbers to the parts. If you have a very large assy it is time consuming of course to rename all of your components.
