I'm trying to export my pro-engineer design to 3D-Viz in order to make some nice renderd pics. I've already achived so by exporting to the vrml-format, but it messed up all the UV-coordinates and materials weren't renderd properly.
What is the proper way of doing this or is there perhaps a plugin for this task?

Hey tjerkbakker, Are you referring to getting a Pro/E object and exporting it to JT format ( VisView )?

VisView is unknown to me, but what I did was export my assembly directly to the vrml-format so I ended up with a bunch of .wrl files. These files can be imported in 3d-Viz (autodesk) but don't have correct UV-coordinats. So when you assign a material to a part it has no refrence to map the material. It is possible to assign the UV-coordinates manually, but that is a hell of a job!!
Basicly I'm looking for a method to get some really smooth pictures of my assembly (raytraced reflections, shadows, that kind of stuff). Is Pro-E capable of doing that sort of thing (VisView?!?) or is it necessary to use a external tool such as 3D-Viz?

Pro/E has rendering capabilities. VisVIEW is a 3D Viewer/Animation/Mark-Up software ( By EDS ). You can modify the colours / add surface textures in Pro/E. After applying desired colours/surfaces.... then render in Pro/E.
