Hi,

There was an existing boundary wall of height 1.5m above the footing. The ground level on one side of the existing boundary wall needed to be lowered. Thus, during excavation the footing of the boundary wall was exposed. Any method on how to protect this footing. Will mass concrete only be sufficient to prevent any overturning moment if any.

Thanks

There's not enough information here to give advice on the mass concrete footing. But if the ground on one side of the wall is now lower than the other side then there's a new moment that the wall presumably hasn't been design for. This would need to be checked. In addition to that, you should also keep in mind that a sliding failure and undermining of the footing in bearing are both possibilities when excavating near a footing.
