I am trying to make a part family but when I bring the part into a new assembly, the expression name I want to use is "Travel" (Travel=S-.25). "S" is selectable, the part name is selectable (DB_xxxx), and so on. Also "L" is not selectable which L=S+3.149). It appears that only expressions with constants or numbers show up, but not the expressions that have a variable. Any ideas?

That's the way it was designed to work.

If you think about it, 'Expressions' come in two basic types, 'Variables' and 'Formulas'. 'Variables' consist of single numerical values, while 'Formulas' will contain some combination of Expression names and/or numerical values plus algebraic operators, like '+', '-', '*', etc. For something like a Family Table part, ONLY 'Variables' can be included as input when 'defining' a Family Member.

Thanks John, I came to that conclusion after staring at it for a while and edited my expressions accordingly.
