Is there a way I can extract a numeric value from an attribute that has the a symbol along side the number?

I need a way to extract values from say a number with a diameter symbol included.

I haven't tried this, but can you split the string using the symbol then use makenumber()?

Or something like this:

That's nice and compact cowski. You'd laugh at the way I develop formulas though, create each step separately then combine when all is working. Just an old self taught user here, and lot of what I build comes from your examples. Your support is greatly appreciated.

This a great, Thanks! I'm over the hump.

Random question... is it possible to set a temporary variable to perform and return a value?
Seems like it could be useful at times. I've got a lot of expressions supporting the same tasks but reporting to their unique logical thread.

@ multicaduser

You have to do that when you get into the larger stuff.
Just got thru nesting if and else expressions 3 layers deep.
