Hello, it might seem like a dumb question, but how would I extract shell forces from my FE Model? I have a model made up of many 2D Shell Elements and have gridpoint forces and element forces output. I know that the shell forces are really running loads (or membrane forces). And I can extract the x and y component shell forces, which are really my Nx and Ny running loads (force/unit length). How can I extract the Nxy running load?
I'm using Patran, and maybe I'm overthinking it, but Nxy isn't the resultant of Nx and Ny, right? Is Nxy the max shear acting on the shell element?
Thanks in advance.
