Extremum Command in v5-6R2013

I've looked everywhere for the Extremum command but cannot seem to locate it! We have access to the GSD studio, but it doesn't appear in the wireframe toolbar, or in the insert > Wireframe menu. Has the name been changed within the UI? I can still utilize it through a macro, so I don't believe it is a licensing issue.

It should be in the 'point' menu of GSD. You've probably already expanded it to no avail.

The 'Extremum' command does not come with all versions of V5 GSD. My ex-employer had the 'Express' setup and did not have 'Extremum' until they upgraded to the HDX & HCX configurations. Missing, too, from the basic licenses are some 'Sweep' sub-options, 'Adaptive Sweep', 'Smooth curve' and the Federation sub-option of the 'Join' command... the absence of all these is lamentable if you've been used to having them.

I'm willing to be told otherwise, but I think a macro can still use a command that's unavailable normally in a workbench. I came to this conclusion because I use an old 'bounding box' VBA macro that created extremums that I could not edit or copy outside of the macro.

 
Use View + Command List to see if the command is there.

If you find it, you can run it from the list, or run it from the Power Input box. Or, add it to a toolbar if you use it often.
 
Like you I am missing extremum in V5R24 SP2 (V5-6R2014) !!!

well I should always check more than twice...

I was using a default MD2 package... this does not include extremum point

MD2 does not include GSD but GS1...

With GSD License I have access to extremum point

I tried switching through all of our licenses but same issue. I was actually doing a rewrite of the old bounding box program that is floating around on the net. I managed to produce a much faster and accurate version by utilizing the Inertia workbench instead of manually creating planes and extremum.
 
I realized that shortly after writing the code to get it. Any tips for speeding up bounding box generation? We are wanting a fully automatic system that basically checks each axis, and uses many iterations to locate the smallest box. I have written a program for Siemens NX that does with and it is lightening fast, but CATIA seems to be extremely slow in this regard. My bounding box routine takes up to 1 second to generate a single box, and I need at least 180 iterations to get a rough estimate! The NX program uses a total of 640 iterations, and most parts complete in under 30 seconds. I cannot see that being possibly within CATIA, unless there is a faster way to gen a bounding box(or at least the rough dimensions for measurement)
 
We have the same issue. We use the bounding from the CCV workbench. Works really fast. However, in R22, they changed it making it far slower, and it will not compute open shell bodies as it did before
