Failure in first example 1

hi all,
I`m new to use patran and I can not obtain a result in my first example.
Analysis Manager gives a failure and when I look in to stderr file, I read:

Note: ESTIMATE had some difficulty analyzing this job.

what can I do to obtaion solution or what is my mistake?

This is normal,isn't a failure!

Look in the analysis directory for the *.F06 and open it with a text editor.

then look for "fatal" inside the *.F06.
Post here the fatal message and we will see what happen.

there is no file *.F06
only *.bdf , *.db.jou , *.mon , *.stderr , *.stdout ,and *.tml

Are you using MSC nastran?
could you run Nastran from outside patran and point the *.bdf file?

or could you post your *.bdf file here? In way that we can open and see if there is a problem?

yes Msc.Nastran. when i try to open *.bdf file with nastran, what will i write for optional keyword?

In any case your model isn't well constrained and cannot run.
on my F06 I have the following:
^^^ USER FATAL MESSAGE 9050 (SEKRRS)
^^^ RUN TERMINATED DUE TO EXCESSIVE PIVOT RATIOS IN MATRIX KLL.
^^^ USER ACTION: CONSTRAIN MECHANISMS WITH SPCI OR SUPORTI ENTRIES OR SPECIFY PARAM,BAILOUT,-1 TO
CONTINUE THE RUN WITH MECHANISMS.

You should re evaluate yours constraints.

you can't run without constrain!!

I did what is written on the MSC.Patran tutorial:-( ok I will try it again.
but why didn`t I get *.F06 file?
and I tried it with nastran but nothing is happend:-(
Actually I don`t know how can I run nastran.
I run nast2005.exe and then select input file and then nothing:-(

I don't know the tutorial but for sure you can't run an analysis without constrain the model.

If you run nastran 2005 be sure to have the patch for that version. after 1 april 2009 all version of nastran from 2005 and older need a patch. contact your msc reseller.

If you run directly nastran and nothing happen; and in the log file you have this message:
NSINIT: *** NSINIT ERROR 70 *** UNABLE TO OPEN UNIT 8
you need the patch.
