Fastener stripping 1

I have a screw that attaches a thin piece of sheet metal to a hydroform. Everything with this was fine until I needed to add a 3mm thick Nylon bracket in front of the thin piece of sheet metal.
Now we have Nylon in front of sheet metal in front of hydro form.
The fastener now strips periodically. This did not happen before the nylon bracket was added. I have trialed a longer fastener to make sure there was enough thread engagement and it still strips ?

Any ideas why.

One possibility is that the nylon part decreased bearing friction resulting in more tension per unit input torque. You can determine this by performing some tests - if you do not have torque/tension equipment, ask your fastener supplier to do it for you. Good luck.

Using a friction drilled hole in the hydroform will solve this problem. No fastener needed. No more stripping.
