Hi,
I have a conductor onto which some long centralisers strips are due to be tack welded. I have looked at DNV RP C203 and it seems to suggest that an F class weld detail should be used for attachments on the surface of stressed members. My problem is that this appears to be the fatigue detail of the weld itself whereas my interest is in the pipe and don't really care if the welds holding on the centralisers fail. I'm concerned about what the HAZ around the welds will be like in the conductor pipe as it could be an area where cracks initiate but feel that the F class mentioned in DNV may not be appropriate.
