FEA Benchmarks for Thin Walled Structures

All,

I've been preparing early-career FEA documentation to ensure appropriate verification of FEA models. Any advise on the best approaches (in no particular order):

1. Closed form, second order formulations from classical texts ex. Timoshenko
2. Empirical/Semi-empirical formulae (Handbooks, Codes, Manuals, NASA NTRS, etc.)
3. Articles and conference papers (ex. ASME PVT/PVP, Journal of Thin Walled Structures etc.)

If you've "been preparing" this, how far have you gotten ? No point in us telling you things you already know.

like NACA 2661 and 2662 for diagonal tension, Bruhn, Niu, etc

I have my own copies of Blodgett, Shigleys and Roark's. However, these books are not sufficient to verify complex models and the lack of a mentor post-COVID is making it hard. So when you say "how far have you gotten", I will eat a humble pie and say "nowhere". Yes, I can pick out formulae from these books and get within 5-10% with my models but it is not enough to advance theoretical knowledge.
 
Maybe check Vlasov's "Thin-walled elastic beams", unless you are more interested in plates and shells. Anyway, comprehensive texts about thin-walled structures are often written for aerospace and structural engineers, maybe that's where you could find something interesting.

I can also recommend "Introduction to the Theory of Thin-walled Structures" by Murray.
 
"Analysis and Design of Flight Vehicle Structures" by E. F. Bruhn was our go to for thin walled structures when we started trying to do FEA of car bodies, back in the late 70s and early 80s. Oh what fun we had.

Thank you for the suggestions. Added Bruhn, AF Stress Manual, Barsom's Fatigue and Fracture Control in structures and Anderson's Fracture Mechanics books to my desk.
 
I'd invest time online, like at MIT's opencourseware site.
