FEA Standard Models: Accuracy Testing 1

Are there any standard 3D models with material and load data that can be downloaded for testing of computational accuracy of FEA tools?

(Or some equivalent?)

Best regards,
Bruce

Greg,
Those are about as impressive as it gets!

But I was curious more at a basic day to day working level. I’ve been experimenting with smaller packages and seemingly getting plausible results, but I was looking more for a model(s) I could duplicate, run and compare my results with “known good” results to determine if my self-learning process is on track … or not.

Any thoughts there?

Appreciate your comments greatly!!!

There are stress analysis books with analytical solutions. Roark's comes to mind.

The models I have been associated with have been correlated back to real world structures. The differences between packages for linear FEA should be down in the weeds, errors are usually from the user. That being said every bit of software I have ever used has a bug list.

Cheers

Dave,
Thanks for the Roark tip. Will look for it.

Greg,
I fully expect your estimate that the error will be tiny is right on the money … being new to this I need to burn some time assuring I am on the right track.

Thanks Guys!
Bruce
