Feature Parameters in NX9

I have found a problem with Feature Parameters during the Beta Test and I have opened a call.

Sample example: a sketch and an extrusion then drafting with master model

The following message appear if the sketch and the extrusion are not in the same layer and if the sketch is not visible:

Hidden features cannot be used for feature parameters in non-legacy views."

In the final release, the function is hidden by default and the problem is still there :

- Does it mean that Siemens wants to promote users to use the PMI Module ?
- But what about the users without this module ?

Note that I've shown this some of our Drafting people and they were at a loss as to what may have happened between NX 7.5 and NX 8.0 to have caused this, so I was asked to create a couple examples, in this case using NX 7.5 and NX 8.0 (since this where whatever happened, happened) and to then open a PR which included these examples, which I've done. If I learn anything, I'll try and post something.

Hello John,

Could you look into IR1948212, because it has product version NX8.5 as version instead of NX9.0.

I tried it with partial loading off, no difference.
Same error message. I am using NX 9013 with classic user interface.
I only get the dimensions when the sketches are visible in the model.

Other competing CAD systems do this very well ;)
And I hear this a lot from my colleagues (teachers),
because I was the one who decided to switch to NX.

Regards,

Olaf

If you've contacted GTAC and they've opened an IR there is little that I can contribute further to the process.
