Is it a good practice to place equipment like an air compressor on top of fiberglass grating
The skid is 10ft x 16ft

At our generating stations, we never permanently placed any equipment on grating. Equipment is supported by structural steel framing with grating (steel or fiberglass) surrounding the equipment. This is to keep the option of easily removing grating if necessary... and there have been times when it became necessary.
Also, operating equipment supported by grating can cause vibration problems.

I agree with you.
The field added a temporary skid and set it on fiberglass grating.
There is an engineer here giving an ok to add two air compressor on top of that skid.
I have see where operating companies specifically state not to place equipment on top of grating.
I was hoping to find a spec from someone like OSHA PIP Coast Guard (if a fire, fiberglass melts) saying not to place equipment on top of fiberglass grating.

I would be concerned about long term creep and sag in addition to vibration.
Unless there are piers under the equipment that is on the grate I wouldn't do it.
