FiberSim Error

Hello,

I am trying to generate flat pattern layouts from FiberSim 13 but I keep running into the same error: "Could not generate the flat pattern. Check the placement planes." I've tried rebuilding the model, boundaries, etc with no luck. Any suggestions? What are placement planes exactly?

fiber sim and catia composites are pretty similar. in catia i use producibility analysis and only then flattening. without producibility there is no way to get flat patterns.

I run the producibility before trying to generate flat patterns and it works fine. I see the mesh over the part and no errors are reported. Do you know what "placement panes" are? Thanks for the reply

in catia this option is in the flat patterns dialog. upload a screen shoot..again i don't use fiber sim. maybe the program just asks you for a plane for flat patterns

It's been several years since I used FiberSim, but I agree with JeniaL that it is asking for the plane upon which to generate the flat pattern.

if producibility goes well there should not be a problem for flattening. upload a picture of flattening dialog.
