We are having problems with files coming up modified even when nothing in the file has been modified. This looks like it is happening in files with suppressed components. This is causing cut paths in our NC files to go red every time you close and open file. I have tried to reopen and resave files to get rid of the modified status but it keeps returning in the files with suppressed components in it. Is there a setting some where that isn't set correctly or some thing I can do to correct this problem.
We are at NX6 version 6.0.2.8 we were at versiion 6.05 but had to drop back a version due to performance issues with large files. This is also inside Team Center 2005 sr1/2007 version10.0.37_buid_8932

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Is it the compoenet files that are marked as modified or the assembly that has the suspressed files in it?

I think the assembly has to load all the files first, then modify itself based on the supression filters. It needs to do this so the mating conditions have been satisfied.

It is the top level and we are not using partial loading so everything is loading fully. That was my initial thought was it was looking at everything to solve the mating conditions but I now do not think that is what is going on.

Were any of the Components last saved in an older version of NX than then one you're opening the Assembly in?

Yes, John, our files when we were NX5 were all differenct versions, but when they upgraded us to NX6 they did a system re-file to 6.0.5.3. The NC files that always have red paths were files where the master model and associated opposite or the associated waved Manufacturing model were saved out of sequence. But all NC files will open as Modified immediately before the NC paths even come up. The NC file, the top level Fixture file and the 2 sub-assemblies that have the suppressed geometry will say modified, but there is nothing modified inside the files. I can open the master models separately and they say Read-Only and not Modified and I can open the Tool Component that the master model is in and it is Read-Only and not Modified, but if I open the NC file the sub-components that have suppressed geometry (because we use arrangements in our tool fixtures) will say modified. It never did that in NX5. Then when we go to save and close it lists all the files that need saving but as an NC programmer I can't save those files.

PS:
I talked again to one of our programmers and she told me that not always do the paths turn red or go out of date. But the files that did have this happening to were modified and the files that I was able to get rid of them comming in modified corrected themselves. But I have some files that I just can not get to come in correct.

We had the same issue coming from NX4 to NX7.5. We were advised not to de a refile, due to our incredibly complex multisite layout, this means though, that every time we open legacy parts in NX7.5, it has to "refile" on the fly which means that although we havent actually modified the file, the system has changed it in the back ground in order to open it and all legacy parts will continue to show as modified until they are saved in the latest version.

Best regards

All the files come in in an unmodified state and have been refiled but the top assembly comes in modified. Even after a save all you close and reopen and it's back to a modified status. I do not know what else to do to correct this.
