Filler/sealant that's thermally conducting but electrically insulating

I am searching for a material that can fill the space between circuit boards carrying sensors and electroncs. I need to control the thermal gradients, both in space and time, between the various sensors and their electronics. Hence, the material must be electrically insulating. Another major requirement is to be able to repair the curcit boards if the fail, which makes it impossible to use some standard type sealants from the large manufacturers. Does anyone have ideas or clues about this magic stuff?

Dow and others make silicone potting compounds that do what you want. Most electronic supply distributors would stock it. The silicone is designed for low adhesion properties for repairability.

Bear in mind that any non-conductive thermal compound will be limited in its thermal conductivity, since it can only use alumina or possibly AlN as the conductive medium.

In any case, the epoxy binder has poor thermal conductivity.

If this is a serious problem, you should consider using a hybridized circuit or a metal-core pc board.
