Hello everyone,
What are the defects that you see in the attached image of a fillet weld? I have checked using a Bridge-cam guage, the undercuts ≤ 1mm. The throat length is acceptable according to AWS D1.1. The weld is of unequal legs. According to AWS D1.1 I dont find anything wrong in this weld except that it seems quiet ugly. The fusion line between the layers of weld is very irregular and it is creating a concavity which is unacceptable according to AWS D1.1 figure 5.4E, but then the height of concavity is more than the designed throat length so technically it becomes acceptable.
Any CWI here? Will you pass this weld?
