Hello Everyone,

I have sized a filter press for dewatering slurry coming from a precipitation tank. I have the following operating steps with my filter press:

1) Filtration
2) Air blow (to dry cake)
3) Opening plates and cake dump
4) Plates spray clean
5) Closing plates

I need to know the operating conditions in each of these steps, e.g. filtration step flowrate, air blow flowrate and time (i.e. volume) and so on. I was wondering if there is any tool/spreadsheet available to the public that specifies filter press operating conditions. Google did not help!

Any guidance on this would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
NG

This type of data is very press type/brand/ size specific and will also depend on the material being pressed, the chemical coagulants present and a range of other variables.

Why don't you consult with a couple press suppliers and get some comparative data as a starting point.

ashtree,

Thank you for your reply. After extensive research and reading a few technical articles and text books, I was able to find what I was looking for.
