Hello -
I am using Woodworks sizer and concept. It seems that the software is requiring every design for all wood members to be verified for fire design.
Is this a requirement in the IBC? or is it just something WoodWorks folks decided to added?
Thanks
John

Fire design can impact the strength we assign to wood members. The only time I have encountered this is in the pre-qualified wall assemblies for fire resistance. There is an assembly using 2x studs, and in the footnote of the table a note that requires the strength of studs to be reduced by a %.

I actually noticed the same thing yesterday. It isn't doing it for everything - only joists. Pretty annoying, really. I can't find the toggle either, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't doing it Friday.
